To all the people who have donated towards this project, I can’t thank you enough. Yes, this project is huge passion of mine, but you have all joined this passion to help make a difference to help poverty in the Solomon Islands.

To all my Nursing colleagues, no matter where you are working in Australia or New Zealand, please consider how fortunate we are to have the resources of equipment and medical backup. Then please consider what it would be like to have little or no resources, little or no equipment to save lives and no doctor to call. This is the life of a Solomon Islands Nurse. These nurses are trained to work under the worst possible conditions. They are tough. There’s no counselling for them when they watch human lives struggle with illnesses, trauma and die unnecessarily because they didn't have the equipment or a doctor to call on.

If you can help by donating towards this project, you will be helping to train a nurse to save lives in remote islands and villages in the Solomon Islands.

One of SIEP’s greatest supporters is the Canberra Hospital. Greg Leahy, who is a Registered Nurse at the Canberra Hospital has been coordinating raffles, cake stalls and even collection of plastic bottles to cash and recycle to raise money to support Nursing Education in the Solomon Islands. The staff at the hospital has really got behind the idea of helping nurses in a third world country. Over $10,000 has been raised at the Canberra Hospital over the last couple of years. Big thank you to Greg and all his work colleagues there.
